Art

This course allows the student the opportunity to explore and express their creativity through the use of a variety of mediums.

Projects will incorporate the study of significant artists and styles. Exploration of cultural and historical aspects will expose students to a diversity of art. Special hands-on projects include printmaking, three-dimensional artwork, paper-mache, Sumi-e ink brush painting, self-portraits and ceramics.

There are three levels offered for art:

• Beginning Art:  For students taking art for the first time in middle school.
• Intermediate Art:  For those students that passed Beginning Art with a C or higher.
• Advanced Art:  For those students that passed Beginning & Intermediate Art with a C or higher.
